Once you have signed up to PayPal there are other advantages. You can offer your guests (both US and UK) the option of paying deposits and rental charges through PayPal, too. This means that you can accept credit card payments without the high costs involved in setting up and maintaining a traditional merchant account. You need to establish a PayPal Business Account in order to receive credit card payments, and PayPal then takes a commission of 2.9% plus 30 cents from each transaction, but there are no other overheads, and this charge can always be incorporated into your rental rates if you feel this is necessary
